A former British Army Major with twenty years of command, staff, and training experience. Subsequently seconded by the UK Foreign Office to the UN (UNSCOM) in Baghdad as Operations Officer and Chief Inspector for high-profile challenge inspections, and later to the OSCE in Kosovo investigating war crimes and human rights abuses.
Since 2000, Chris has specialised in media high-risk security, working extensively with news crews across numerous conflict zones including Ukraine. A qualified munitions and indirect fire expert and certified Media High Risk instructor, he has delivered training and seminars to news organisations and NGOs worldwide.
Retained by international news agencies and NGOs as a military and weapons investigator — conducting investigations into the deaths of journalists and alleged human rights violations in Gaza, the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Libya, Somalia, Kurdistan, the Philippines, and Ukraine.
